” Memory Verse
“But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;”
Titus 1:8
Today’s Devotional
A steward of God must be sober, sober because you have a master whose resources and expressions you show to your world and so your sobriety is important to ensure at every given time, you aren’t carried away with the cares and temptations of life:
“Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:” Mark 13:35
You must be sober because just as you have a master who you work with and is ever present to help you: 2 Corinthians 6:1, Hebrews 13:5-6, Psalms 46:1
You have an adversary that is bent on not just slowing you down or stopping you, but seeks to destroy you!
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1 Peter 5:8
And so giving yourself one or two moments to not be so serious/sober and to glaze worldliness could become very costly!
“You have already lived long enough like people who don't know God…” 1 Peter 4:3, CEV
“I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.” Psalms 119:63
