“He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; His righteousness endureth for ever; His horn shall be exalted with honour.”
Psalm 112:9
Jesus teaches you to live the life of righteousness that he brought- that eternal life, but always remember where your heart should remain- with the Lord and his kingdom and not in uncertain riches:
“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy… But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:17, 9-10
That’s a certain future of hurt, regret and lack: Jeremiah 17:5-7.
And so it is no surprise, that the ‘good man’ fears the Lord and delights in his commandments (Psalm 112:1), his desires and excitement is always found with God and in his word not in temporal surely failing things.
