“That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:” (Ephesians 3:6)

In Christ, you have become a partaker of God’s promise; the Bible tells us: “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 So when he says promise, he’s not talking about something expected in the future, but the realities you enjoy, even now. Whatever you find in Christ, is yours right now. He tells us: “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Ephesians 1:7 In Christ, you have redemption and forgiveness and you are a partake of the riches of his grace. The word redemption is gotten from the Greek ‘apolutrosis’, which can also be rendered ‘riddance’, meaning that he doesn’t just offer you forgiveness, but he removes from you any trace of unrighteousness, true to his word: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.” 1 John 1:9
