“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
God gave his only begotten son:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” John 3:16
Jesus gave to the poor:
“For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him… that he should give something to the poor.” John 13:29
God recognizes givers:
“a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.” 1 Kings 3:4-5
Jesus recognized givers: Luke 22:1-4
God sent Jesus as a gift to the world. Jesus sent us as his gift to the world. And his plan? That we share the greatest gift to others and make them givers of this great gift also!
Give the gospel! Beyond the food, drinks and games that would be shared this festive season, have at the fore of your mind that that neighbour or colleague who is yet to hear the gospel has not received the most important gift and you can give them free of charge!
The beautiful thing is, in giving them the gospel, you give God more children- working out divinity just like your Father and your Lord!
