The scriptures have the ability to make you wise- you not only know something, you are infused with the desire to do what you know, and to eventually do it. The word of God you receive has a primary destination- your heart:
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings… keep them in the midst of thine heart.” Proverbs 4:20-21
When you receive the word in your heart, and the word of God is God, he causes you to will and to do God’s good pleasure, and since wisdom, in its simplest description, is the application of knowledge, the word of God makes you wise:
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13
He wouldn’t just tell you to stretch forth your hand, he’d give you the ability to divide the water and to be restored whole:
“And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.” Exodus 14:21
“…he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.” Luke 6:10
He wouldn’t just tell you about victory, he would cause you to walk in victory perpetually.
Colossians 2, 1 Samuel 2
