“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 3:15
Doing the word and walking in wisdom would mean refusing to let your five senses define your experience. The word of God imparts faith to your spirit; that faith needed to do what God says despite how you feel or what you see, and eventually walking in righteousness.
“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
If joy profers salvation in difficult circumstances, it will take more than mental calculations or intellectual proficiency to express such joy, only the word of God can impart the faith necessary to act against one’s feelings and rejoice when one should be desperately worried and/or sad.
This is why the word of God is so important and your knowing the word is so vital. You might know what you think should be done in a particular situation, but knowing is not enough, the ability to do what you know is vital and that is wisdom; exactly what the word offers.
When you study, the word of God gives you the faith you require to walk in wisdom, the strength you need to do God’s word. You can’t depend on residual knowledge. Just like people don’t eat once and reserve the energy through the month, but eat daily for daily strength, you must study the word daily- to walk in wisdom daily.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein…” Joshua 1:8
