Glory to God! We had an amazing time this Sunday at the special service tagged “Abounding Grace” with Pastor Ebi.

Pastor began to teach from 2 Corinthians 8:7;

“Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.”

The word of God not only shows us that we can, but also instructs us to abound in everything, first, he instructs us to abound in faith, he wants our faith to grow and this happens as we listen to the word consistently, Pastor taught us that growing our faith is not enough, we have to use our faith by doing the word of God at all times. Next, we are instructed to abound in utterance, God wants us to abound in speaking the word, as we work our faith, he wants us to be bold in speaking the word at all times and in every place.

The verse goes on to instruct us to abound in knowledge, the word “knowledge” is gotten from the greek word “gnosis” which refers to knowledge gotten through reading, Pastor admonished us to refuse ignorance and to gain knowledge by giving ourselves to reading, she concluded on this by reminding us that the emphasis is on our knowledge of God’s word and she admonished us to read God’s word in order to know it for ourselves, she charged us to be deliberate about increasing in our knowledge of Jesus and of the word of God knowing that the word of God is God and any encounter with God is bound to change our lives. We are then instructed to abound in diligence; in speed and efficiency, God wants us to always improve, getting faster and better in the way we do things, he instructs us to abound in love, Pastor made us to understand that love is not a feeling but a decision we make being assured of victory because love never fails, she charged us to increase in our love for others and in our communication of the same, to look for the best in others and to also look out for their best interests.

Pastor rounded off by reading from 2 Corinthians 9:8;

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”

God is able to make every grace and every favour abound towards us; grace for finances, grace for relationships and much more, he can direct all the types of graces we require in our direction even in the midst of a multitude, he is able to favour us so much such that we always have sufficiency in all things and abound in every good work, he is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ask or think.
