“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.”
Colossians 3:1

The main verse tells you your spiritual location should influence your affections in life, and naturally, it is obvious.
The man who lives in a high brow area would most likely have different desires (excluding basic necessities) from the man who lives in the tenement region of the same region, his physical location would influence his desires and expectations.
What about the man who relocates to a high brow area? You would notice that his preference would begin to change because he sees differently and has a different exposure. When you got born again, you changed locations:
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” Colossians 1:13
You are in a higher spiritual location with the highest spiritual authority and so he says act accordingly, set your affections and desires accordingly.
“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:4
Christ is your life! He is the essence of your being, knowing him is walking in the fullness of who you really are. Learning from him, is choosing to understand and express your glorious potentialities as the child of God. Christ is your life, not music, not money, not google, not social media but Christ. Prioritize your fellowship with him, he says when you do, your abilities will grow- you would walk in his potentials:
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18
