“To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:”
Romans 2:7
He tells us one of the expressions of eternal life is immortality- for all who seek immortality, God gives eternal life, the Bible tells us:
“…our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:” 2 Timothy 1:10
So Jesus didn’t just bring life to light- that is, demystifying life for everyone to receive, he also brought immortality to light.
The Greek for immortality, “aphtharsia,” also means “incorruptibility” or “unending existence”- something that cannot be affected by spoilage or decay; this is what Jesus brought to light!
For all who have received immortality, it only means nothing spoils or dies in their hands, their lives become an expression of Proverbs 4:18:
“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Proverbs 4:18
