“I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
1 Timothy 2:8
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24
The place of prayer is a place of answers- Jesus gave no other suggestion; anytime he talked about prayer, he made it clear that there would be answers and when he prayed, he got answers:
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” Matthew 7:7
“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him… I tell you that he will avenge them speedily…” Luke 18:7-8
“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24
“And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always…” John 11:41-42
See the confidence with which Jesus talked to the Father in John 11:41; he said he KNEW God heard him, he KNEW his desires had been granted, 1 John 5:14-15) that’s the same way he wants you to approach God. Get excited when it’s time to pray; observe in awe, the unfettered access you have to the monarch of the universe; the one who can do anything!
