“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.”
Romans 16:17

If it were not possible for the children of God to be influenced by such deceivers, he wouldn’t need to warn us, but yet again he shows us that if his children are not careful, they will end up as such men; ungodly and worldly:
“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:20-22
And Jesus has no such tolerance for ungodliness and so again; he warns his church: Revelations 2:14-22
Remember the expressions of the wisdom that is from above and that which is of satan:
“This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” James 3:15-17
Anybody espousing wisdom with an obvious goal to speak contrary to what you learn, cause division in your midst (not peacable nor gentle) and shut you out from testing such wisdom (not easy to be intreated and full of hypocrisy- all talk and no action) is espousing the wisdom from devils.
