“Love is always patient; love is always kind; love is never envious or arrogant with pride. Nor is she conceited,”
1 Corinthians 13:4, ISV
When you got born again, something happened:
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26
He took away the old heart and gave you a new one filled with his love!
Now, you can love like him, you are not like the world that can have their consciences seared unto evil and malice, you are a new person now, with a new heart and he teaches us what to expect from this new life we have received.
If you were not a patient person before, now you can be, because you’re full of love. Love is not a feeling neither is it an attraction, you love someone or people when you are patient with them; patient with hope that they can get better:
“Love… believes the best in all; there is no limit to her hope” 1 Corinthians 13:7, ISV
You express love when you can look beyond the faults and shortcomings of others and still believe the best about them just like God does for you:
“Above all, continue to love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8
This is something you can do and God expects of you. Jesus said:
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” Acts 1:8
But then we see that when he came, the content that he ‘poured’ out was ‘love’:
“…God’s love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5
…with love, anybody can change without fail because love never fails and power, after all, is the ability to cause changes. God expects you to be full of him; full of love.
