“Love is always patient; love is always kind; love is never envious or arrogant with pride. Nor is she conceited,”
1 Corinthians 13:4, ISV
One of the most remarkable blessings about having and listening to the word of God is the fact that you can use the word and improve your life. The word of God is a mirror with which you increase in glory and understand how to express the divine life that you have received. The mirror of the word reveals to you what is now ‘natural’ to you after you got born again and when that is revealed to you, you act accordingly.
“For if anyone hears the word but is not obedient to it, he is like a man who looks at himself in a mirror and studies himself carefully, and then goes off and immediately forgets what he looks like.” James 1:23-24, ISV
Just like you don’t argue with the physical mirror if you observe you actually have two eyes, you also don’t argue with the word of God when he reveals to you your potentials in Christ. Here’s one of them:
“…God’s love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5, ISV
This means you have received the ability to love just like God loves, no wonder he gives instructions and commandments such as:
“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us…” Ephesians 5:2
“And this is his commandment, That we should… love one another, as he gave us commandment.” 1 John 3:23
This means when you look at the main verse, you begin to judge your expressions- you already have the love of God in you, all you have to do is express that love- being always patient, always kind, never envious, arrogant with pride, never conceited. It’s not hard for you, it’s ‘natural’ to you.
