“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”
Acts 20:32

There is a promise of challenges and persecution for the child of God: Matthew 5:11, 2 Timothy 3:12
But what he seeks to influence irrespective is your response- your response would go a long way in determining the turn of events and their influence on your life: James 1:2-4.
Listen to David:
“Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.” Psalms 119:23
He didn’t respond by plotting against the princes, instead he meditated on the word. Why?
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night… for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8
His prosperity and good success in life wasn’t dependent on the favour or animosity of men- pauper or prince- it was a direct result of his meditation of the word. His progress and elevation was linked to God and his word alone. No wonder he said:
“Late into the night I stay awake to think about your word.” Psalms 119:148, ERV
