“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3
You have been called to a life of glory and virtue; a life of excellence, he tells us:
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him…” 1 Peter 2:9, NHEB
This means there must be something unique about you, when you got born again, you became the first and the best of God’s creatures, given the very life God lives by:
“Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” James 1:18
And he expects you walk in excellence. He shows you how-
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;” Philippians 1:9-10
When your love abounds, you’d approve excellent things, you would make the best choices (So that you may give your approval to the best things… BBE). Divine excellence isn’t revealed by scrolling through the internet- it is the expression of a man who is filled with love and you are: [Romans 5:5]
Recognize that he expects you be glorious and excellent in all your dealings.
