“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” 2 Peter 1:3

Knowing Jesus and deliberately planning to do so cannot be overemphasized; when you spend time with God in his word by his Spirit; all that he has given you freely is revealed to you by the Holy Ghost:
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12
When you know all that is yours, your Christian walk would become exciting, effective and productive:
“That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Philemon 1:6
In the main verse, he says, through the knowledge of God, you would recognize that all you would ever require for life and godliness has been given you, no need to pray for them anymore, all you have to do is accept the reality and walk accordingly.
