“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  Acts 1:8

The Bible tells us:

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”  Acts 10:38

God was with him effecting changes, he anointed him with the Holy Ghost and with power for that purpose; Jesus caused changes everywhere he went- during friendly visits:

“And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.” Matthew 8:14-15

“And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day… there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy... And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;” Luke 14:1-4

In the place of worship:

“And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years… And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.” Luke 13:10-13

On the road: John 5:5-8, John 9:1-7

Guess what? He said we’d do greater things:

“…He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do…”  John 14:12

No wonder he told his disciples to wait till they received that ability to cause changes. The Holy Ghost in you isn’t just to enable you speak in tongues, you ought to speak in tongues and go about doing good, just like Jesus did.
