“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬

In the main verse, he tells us to follow meekness; follow Jesus:
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭29‬
When given an option to ‘rightly’ respond arrogantly based on how you feel or have been treated, choose meekness, it’s not about how people see you but about how God sees you:
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬
It is in his sight you should be humble and meek, and Jesus takes it even further- be lowly hearted:
“…learn of me; for I am lowly in heart…”
The word rendered ‘lowly’ is ‘tapeinos’ which means ‘not rising far from the ground’ and he walked accordingly on the earth, giving us an example that we ought to follow- John 13:13-15
“but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬-‭8
