“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.”
Romans 12:16
He begins the main verse by telling members of the church in Rome to be of the same mind; there should be no room for doing things one’s own way different from what the church collectively decides. He emphasizes to the church in Philippi:
“Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Philippians 2:2
Every difference can be addressed and when all party is subject to God’s word, it leaves for the collective improvement of all.
The Bible tells us:
“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, OPEN TO REASON, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17, ESV
If it is wisdom, it’ll want to hear others out and present its position. Unity is so important in the profession of our faith and the instruction to you is to condescend, listen to others and be of the same mind.
