Be very deliberate to present yourself as a person of integrity- sincere and honest, true to who you are in private. See more:
“(He) was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us: Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.” 2 Corinthians 8:19-21
He made deliberate effort to ensure that it was clear to the churches that he was handling their finances appropriately, he probably heard about these two:
“But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.” Acts 5:1-2
Their dishonesty was unnecessary, the Bible says: 2 Corinthians 9:7
So they would have been blessed irrespective of the amount they gave but they chose dishonesty, and their sojourn on the earth was cut short.
