Jesus told us:
“…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
He had overcome the world; this world:
“…the whole world lieth in wickedness.” 1 John 5:19
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1 John 2:16
And now the Bible says:
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4
You are born of God, realize what’s true and walk accordingly. No, you don’t have to give in. Be encouraged by Noah; standing out as a righteous man when the whole world, not just his street or country, was overcome with evil.
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” Romans 15:4
It is truly a corrupt and crooked world but the word of God makes clear your present permanent state and gives a call to action;
“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life…” Philippians 2:15-16
