Let God’s word guide your conclusions, the Bible says there is no power but of God. How true and how John the Baptist knew this, see his response when he was asked concerning Jesus:
“John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.” John 3:27
When you know this, even in your sphere of influence, it should cause a contentment, gratitude and faith in God for your life. There is no need to be jealous of anyone’s advancement or promotion because that emotion would not profit but hurt you:
“A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.” Proverbs 14:30
Since you know your Heavenly Father is the one who promotes, then your expectations would be fixed on him and because everything he does is for your own benefit, then you know someone’s promotion does not equate your demotion. He blesses us all and so you conduct yourself free from malice, resentment or envy.
