“Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.”
Romans 12:16
Ensure you never become wise in your own conceits, the Bible says there’s more hope for a fool than for the one who is wise in their own conceit:
“Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.” Proverbs 26:12
And this was his description of a fool prior:
“A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.” Proverbs 26:3, read more Proverbs 26:4-11.
So condescend- listen, you just might learn something. Don’t mind high things, listen to the Psalmist: Psalm 131:1-2
There is absolutely nothing wrong with staying away from a discourse that causes strife even if you think you might be correct. You can always hold your peace till there’s a better and more accommodating opportunity. That is the Christian way:
“It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.” Proverbs 20:3
“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,” 2 Timothy 2:24
