“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1:4

We have not just escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust, we are right now, partakers of the divine nature! This glorious divine nature has supplanted the human nature. Remember because as a Christian, you do human things, it doesn’t mean you are human, man was primarily made in the image of God to function like God, so the human nature is a lesser form or prototype of the divine nature- so people think, talk, laugh, sit, walk etc, but God expressed all of these before he made man.
So everything the human nature can express, the divine nature can and even more! How come after you got born again, you are still alive and can still talk? You are living and talking because of the divine nature!
He shows us one of the differing expressions of the divine nature, with this nature, you have escaped corruption; this nature should not be tainted with the corruption that is in the world- it is ‘unspoilable’, ‘unkillable’, ‘undie-able’, unblameable… so while the Christian and the unbeliever have the same physical characteristics; one increases in glory, is bold at all times, and has the ability to manifest God’s excellence and perfections, the other- unbeliever- must be born again!
