“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
2 Peter 1:4

The main verse isn’t saying God made exceeding great and precious promises to us, he’s saying he has fulfilled- given- us those promises already; they are ours right now!
See how he qualifies those promises- he calls them exceeding great, meaning ‘great’ doesn’t do justice to their qualifications, they exceed ‘great’ and they are precious! These promises are yours right now!
He had already told us:
“For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
And we were born in him, new creations in Christ Jesus!
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:” 1 Corinthians 1:30
Wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, redemption are ours, even now!
We possess wisdom even now, wisdom for our dealings on the earth, for our words, actions, responses, results! We have wisdom right now!
Contemplate on this! You are the light of the world and everyone who follows you should not walk in darkness but should have the light of life- should understand how to navigate life!
