“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”  1 John 1:7

He wants us to fellowship with him, and so he brought us into oneness with him:
“But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”  1 Corinthians 6:17
By giving us his life;
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”  1 John 5:11
So we can truly know him and the only other person (who walked on the earth) that is exactly like him:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”  John 17:3
He wants us to be a part of that extraordinary association of the God kind:
“…that by them ye might become partakers of the nature of God,  2 Peter 1:4, Murdoch
And the best part is, we are called family- the very children of the living God
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God…but we know that… we shall be like him…”  1 John 3:2
In this family, every one of us ought to be one- in union- with the other:
“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us…”  John 17:21
So much so that everyone of us can do perfectly the works of the father!
“Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake….He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:11-12
