“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:7
The word of God describes Abraham’s expression of faith with remarkable terms:
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” Romans 4:20
He was strong in faith. Faiith had come to him when he heard God’s word and then he stuck with what God had said despite his ailing circumstances, he let the word of God be the source of his hope rather than his observations the source of his despair and discouragement:
“(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,)… Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.” Romans 4:17-18
He was strong in faith, doing something- giving glory to God! An expression of thanksgiving and joy!
When the word of God says:
“Never worry about anything…” Philippians 4:6, ISV
“In every thing give thanks…” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
It might seem too simple and almost lazy, but it is in reality the expression of your faith- you insistence that God is always right and he is with you irrespective. Express strong faith; be strong enough to give thanks and be joyful, relying absolutely on God’s word.
