“Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.”
Joshua 1:7
God told Joshua in the main verse that he needed to be strong and courageous to do the word, even though he had assured him that he will never fail him nor forsake him- God was telling Joshua, that if he did what he was told, he would never fail nor regret. It is what the word of God has told us:
“This is why it says in Scripture: “Look! I am laying a chosen, precious cornerstone in Zion. The one who believes in him will never be ashamed.”” 1 Peter 2:6, ISV
If you rely on God’s word, you would never be put to shame!
While you are using your faith, some unexpected things might happen suddenly, continue to be strong in faith and give glory to God.
Do not be like Peter- do not observe the waves and begin to doubt, even though Jesus is right there with you, instead of considering what you observe with your senses, let your hope be deeply rooted in the word of God and give glory to God.
Stand in God’s word and be strong in faith; refuse to express little faith like Peter did:
“And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” Matthew 14:31
