“In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;” 2 Timothy 2:25
The Bible says:
“Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.” Proverbs 6:2
You set a trap for yourself with your mouth; you shut yourself in a reality created by your own words, and he admonishes you to:
“Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.” Proverbs 4:24
For that man who’s perverse and talks anyhow, with his words he can place himself in a reality that he would not be able to escape despite his desires for a better experience. His ignorance and nonchalance would be his ultimate undoing, so God said:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6
Knowing that his tongue can shut him in a certain reality, he can also use that same tongue and create the reality he wants to experience- he can shut himself in God’s purpose for his life, so that irrespective of the temptations, his reality would always be that he is at the centre of God’s will for his life, just like Jesus:
“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.” Luke 24:44
