Read Jesus’ teaching on faith again: Mark 11:23
And how true this was for him! See how unselfish is he, he was teaching us how he responded to the tree seeming to act contrary to what he had said, so if we found ourselves in a similar situation we would respond likewise. The Bible tells us, he spoke loudly to the fig tree because it didn’t bare any figs:
“And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.” Mark 11:14
And left for the temple, upon returning, he passed by the tree and the tree was still standing- you begin to wonder what could have been going through his mind and his heart? He tells us:
“…and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass…” Mark 11:23
Throughout, after speaking, even when the tree was still standing, he didn’t let doubt enter his heart, he believed what he said would happen and it did:
“…they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.” Mark 11:20
