“And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”
John 17:19

The main verse gives us clarity, we know for a certain that if Jesus is sanctified through the truth, which is the word:
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:17
He would never hold any position outside the word. His judgments would always be according to the word of God and as such, there would be no unpleasant surprises for us when we live our lives according to the word and he expects us to do so:
“…that they also might be sanctified through the truth”
He is saying in the main verse, you can stick to the word and be rest assured he is stuck with you, just like the Bible tells us:
“Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.” 1 Peter 2:6
This is all you need to bank your life; your whole existence on the word.
