“And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”
John 17:19

The word of God is your difference; the word of God makes you different; being sanctified doesn’t mean opposing every position just because you can. Instead, you choose the position of God’s word even if it is in opposition with what’s popular. Listen to Jesus:
“Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.” (John 8:15)
He didn’t make judgments based on what he could garner with his five senses, irrespective of what he saw, heard or how he felt, he chose sides with God’s word and we should do likewise.
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” John 5:30
Moreso because when it matters, only God’s word can give life:
“Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” John 11:40
