“And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.”
John 17:19

Jesus said for our sakes he was going to sanctify himself so that we also might be sanctified, echoing how he had described his relationship with us earlier:
“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:16
“They are… even as I am”, and so he knew his taking a particular position would eventually be our position:
“…because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:17
Again and again, he makes clear how unashamed he is to be identified with us:
“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40
He gave himself for us and told us this:
“For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me…” John 16:27
Rest in his love, bask in his identity.
