Jesus wasn’t slothful, he said:
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” John 9:4
He was always about what God wanted him to do and he told us this:
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should GO and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” John 15:16
We are fruitful when we are on the go! When we are on the move not being slothful. Slothfulness can affect your discernment and the state of your soul, the Bible tells us:
“For lazy people, life is a path overgrown with thorns and thistles. For those who do what is right, it is a smooth highway.” Proverbs 15:19, ERV
He contrasts the slothful with the righteous, meaning the slothful man is wrong in his laziness, he said his way would be overgrown with thorns, and those thorns would choke the word of God and its efficacy and he would remain unfruitful in life:
“He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.” Matthew 13:22
