“The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.” Proverbs 12:27
The man who’s lazy might get some result but he would waste them with nonchalance, that’s not the diligent man- whatever he has is precious to him, he keeps them and seeks to improve, he vets his results and seeks to be better and in his walk as a witness of the Lord Jesus, those he has won to Christ are precious to him, the Bible says:
“Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.” Proverbs 27:23
And even if contextually he meant physical goats and sheep, you realize that instruction is all encompassing as exemplified in the desires of Apostle Paul:
“And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.” Acts 15:36
Remember the one thing Jesus said was the will of God that he came down from heaven to fulfill as against his one personal will (John 6:38)?
“And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” John 6:39
Be a good steward, don’t be nonchalant or slothful, be diligent!
