“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105
If the word is a lamp unto your feet and a light on your path, it means only the word of God should direct you. There can be many counselors and the bible tells us:
“For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: And in multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
Proverbs 24:6, 11:14
But safety isn’t direction, your direction should come from the word of God. Look at this:
“He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3
That is the Spirit of God, the one who guides and Jesus tells us how he guides in John 16:13-15.
Now that you have God’s word, you can make confident and absolute decisions about the righteous steps you must take.
