“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”

Focusing on God’s word and desiring his word revealed to you is so vital. If your path on the earth is as a shining light that shines more and more, then your path cannot be outside the word of God, because everything outside God’s word is darkness:
“Without revelation people run wild, but one who listens to instruction will be happy.” Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭18‬ ‭HCSB‬
Without revelation from God’s word, there is no restraint, the issue is everything outside the boundaries of the word is unprofitable, so the one who restrains and submits himself to walk solely in the light of God’s word (that shining path), who listens to instruction will be happy (irrespective of the confusion and sorrow those without restraint face).
