“Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.”
Proverbs 4:8

We have seen how God’s word promotes a man, but what if he gets ill and cannot enjoy the promotion, what if he dies prematurely like King Solomon contemplated here?:
“A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.” Ecclesiastes 6:2
And there was such a great king, that even though he was king, because he became leprous could do nothing with his authority:
“And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.” 2 Chronicles 26:21
How does prioritizing wisdom cover that?
“For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” Proverbs 3:2
Wow! He says for sure, all who prioritize God’s word would have ADDED TO THEM; length of days- that means productive and useful days and would live a long life free of troubles! He repeats it: Psalms 119:165.
And this is not far fetched or an impossibility, the Bible tells us in the days of King Solomon, there were no wars, the people of Israel slept and woke up each day to peace because God made Solomon wise and he walked in wisdom! The trouble started once he deviated from the word. Stick to the word.
