“Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.”
Proverbs 4:8
So why did God give the four boys all of this understanding? Their commitment and insistence on the word despite having more than enough reasons to conform; they were not only in a strange country where the laws of Moses didn’t necessary apply, they had been carried captives- they were decorated prisoners.
But their commitment was so impressive to God that he so blessed them, remember God can be impressed by our insistence on his word, see Jesus:
“When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” Luke 7:9
Hear God:
“And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do… For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD…” Genesis 18:17, 19
He knew the tenacity of Abraham’s commitment wouldn’t just stop with him but extend to his children and so he told him what was to happen to Sodom.
Loving and being committed to God’s word inspite and despite would revolutionize your life and your experiences with God, hear Jesus:
“…If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” John 14:23
