“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”  
John 8:12

There is a light of life; a way to do life!
Jesus said anyone who follows him shall not walk in darkness- he would not be in the dark, there would never be a time where he doesn’t know what to do or is left in confusion and despair!
He said whosoever follows him would know how to do life; would know how to walk in life irrespective of what comes his way- just like Jesus himself.
He would not walk in confusion, just like Jesus did not walk in confusion, several times the Jews tried to trap him:
“And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.” Luke 11:53-54
But he never walked in confusion and left them amazed and silent.
“And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.”  Matthew 22:46
The one who follows him would never be distraught, just like he was never distraught, even when he was awaken from sleep in the midst of a crisis; he knew what to do- he says whoever follows him would always know what to do!
“And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:…And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:38-39
Jesus is the word of God! We are so blessed that we know what to do and how to think. In any crisis, he tells us how to think:
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”  1John 5:4
He tells us what to do:
“My brethren, count it all joy…”  James 1:2
“Never worry about anything. Instead, in every situation let your petitions be made known to God through prayers and requests, with thanksgiving.”  Philippians 4:6, ISV
