“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
He tells us faith, hope and love would always continue, they are eternal virtues, but to walk in them takes a commitment to be submissive to God’s word irrespective, so even when you have no reason to hope, you’d be like Abraham:
“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, ACCORDING to that which was SPOKEN, So shall thy seed be.” Romans 4:18
“You hope against hope.”
The Bible tells us:
“That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” Hebrews 6:12
Through faith and patience he obtained the promise because he refused to consider pressing and compelling circumstances that were antithetical to God’s word, no wonder the Bible tells us:
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.” Proverbs 4:20
There are so many things you can listen to, but God wants you to bend your ears, be biased towards what he says and so even if you should be vengeful, because he tells you to walk in love, you choose to keep no record of wrongs: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
