“All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar’s household.” Philippians 4:22
Remember Paul was in prison when he wrote to the church at Philippi:
“So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;” Philippians 1:13
In fact, he’s being bound spurred others to preach the gospel seeing that he couldn’t— at least not out there in the open and free world:
“And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.” Philippians 1:14
Yet he considered his being bound a means to further the gospel (Philippians 1:12) and true to his belief, even being bound “in the palace”, he influenced the household of the emperor (Caesar)- he called them saints; they were born again and even now sending greetings to the church at Philippi! Instead of questioning his life’s purpose having found himself in prison at Rome, he had no such time to waste and preached to those around him, he was the one who said:
“For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” 2 Corinthians 4:11
