“Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.”
2 Corinthians 8:7
The Apostle told the church at Corinth to see that they abound in the grace of giving, meaning that they had a role to play in their growth. No wonder the word says:
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18
He didn’t tell you to pray to God, he said you just go ahead and grow in grace as you increase in your knowledge of the Lord Jesus- and this happens when you increase your fellowship with him through study and prayer.
In Acts 20:32, when he commended them to God and the word of his grace, he expected them to actually read the word, know what’s in it and submit to the word- the more they did, the more they were built up and enjoyed the realities they had in Christ, the same applies to you.
