“And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s
sake. And be at peace among yourselves.”
1Thessalonians 5:13
He tells us to esteem our leaders very highly, always
find yourself where God has placed you and do not
wander off to strange territories.
As a Christian, you should always be found esteeming
your leaders very highly, and never be found in the
midst of those engaging in slander, complaints, mockery; that is far from where God has placed you and being in such territories would be unprofitable for you!
In the main verse, he goes ahead to tell us to be at
peace among ourselves, strive to maintain peace- no
other person has a responsibility to settle whatever dispute you are involved in but YOU!
Once it seems something is about to cause a rift between you and your brother or sister in the Lord, he
says cut it out and be at peace:
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably
with all men.” Romans 12:18
Do you have an issue with someone?
“Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go
and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he
shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.” Matthew
18:15.
