“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”
Psalms 5:12

God’s favour compasses you, everywhere you turn, you are blocked by favour and that is not by your own doing, it is the grace of God.
We see this favour as a shield at work vividly with Jacob and his sons, the Bible tells us:
“And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.” Genesis 35:5
But they had no weapons, they were not physical giants, what was it about them that refrained cities from pouncing on and destroying them? God’s favour. It was God’s favour on them that became terror for their detractors:
“The good person will gain favor from the LORD, but the man who plots evil will be condemned by him.” Proverbs 12:2
