“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7

Fellowshipping with the Lord through his word would foster your walk of righteousness; we are called to live a life of sanctification- where the word of God is all we know, live by and meditate on:
“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” John 17:16-17
The word is the reality, and God called us out of a system of lies and deceits to live according to the truth, to live according to his word. The Bible says:
“…Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:25-27
The word washes and sanctifies us; the more time you spend in the word the more discontent and repulsed you would be with the things and the filth in the world. Contemplate on the main verse again.
