“Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,” 2 Peter 1:2
See what he said in the verse above: through your knowledge of the Father and Jesus, grace is multiplied to you. See the function and expression of grace in a man’s life clearly explained:
“And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.” 2 Corinthians 9:8
When grace comes to you, is multiplied unto you, the ability to always have for every good work would be your experience in multiple measures; just like Jesus, you might not take along with you two boats filled with fishes or a truck load of five thousand loaves of bread, but, when you require them, you would have them in abundance! Luke 5:4-9, John 21:5-8, Matthew 14:17-21, Mark 8:16-21z
He also tells us that your experience of peace would multiply.
“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].” Isaiah 26:3 Amplified Bible
‘You will keep in perfect and constant peace’- notice how aggressive he is about your peace;
• He is always thinking about it:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
• He is leading you accordingly:
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.” Psalm 23:2
• And he would do anything to ensure it:
“Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Fellowship with God; increasing in your knowledge of God should be your utmost priority.
Primarily because he is your life:
“For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:3-4
And he called you, in accordance with your destiny to fellowship with him; the call to fellowship is that call to glory and virtue described in 2 Peter 1:3, hallelujah!
“For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers.” Romans 8:29 Amplified Bible
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:9
Through fellowship he also sanctifies you from the darkness, struggles and depression ever constant in the world:
“but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
This is in accordance with your new birth, having been removed from the decadence in the world and planted steadfastly in Christ- in the kingdom of his dear son!
“who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:” Galatians 1:4
“whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:4
“who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” Colossians 1:13
As you fast this period, let your mind be stayed on him and on his word.
“God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.” Psalms 23:1-3 The Message Bible
