“And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.” Revelation 1:16
When John saw Jesus, it was made clear that the only thing we ought to expect from Jesus at any given time was the word of God, just as he said himself:
“…and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.” John 14:24
He also saw his countenance shine as the sun in its strength, and we have seen Jesus like this before, the Bible tells us:
“(he)… went up into a mountain to pray. And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.” Luke 9:28-29
He showed physically what happened when he fellowshipped with God in prayer, and this is what we have been promised by the word as we fellowship with the word:
“As all of us reflect the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, we are becoming more like him with ever-increasing glory by the Lord’s Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 ISV
The Bible tells us:
“…God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
What we see with Jesus is a strong communion with God, true to who he is:
“…his Son… being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person…” Hebrews 1:2-3
