“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”
2 Timothy 4:7
In talking about finishing his course, he begins with a remarkable statement: “I have fought a good fight”, so on his course, he knew he had to fight to remain on course and win! There are people walking on the earth and probably in line with what God has called them to do, that tend to act surprised when they face trials- the very thing the word of God admonishes us against:
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:”1 Peter 4:12
Take the instruction- don’t act surprised. Expect them and so prepare to win. What kind of fight should we expect? Not with Satan- he’s a defeated foe, we don’t fight with him, we cast him out. It is the good fight of faith!
“Fight the good fight of faith…” 1 Timothy 6:12
