“For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  
2Peter 1:8

He says the word of God- keeping the instructions in the word of God- has the ability to make you; not give you, but make you! Hallelujah! When you are made, you would have/get. This isn’t new, this is how the word of God communicates:
“And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.”  Mark 1:17
Jesus said he would make his disciples “something”, meaning he wouldn’t just give them instructions to live by, but will change and enhance their capabilities and they would become what they should be!
“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”  2Timothy 3:15
He says the word of God have the ability to make one wise! If the man lacked wisdom, was always confused, the word can render him wise; meaning when he gets to listening to the word, the finished product would be a wise man!
Believe in the ability of the word of God to make something out of nothing, believe in the ability of the word to make you fruitful, productive, unable to fall. No time spent with- and doing- the word of God is wasted, be conscious of that.
